After the Diocletian Palace Walking Tour hop in the minivan, head to the tranquil Dalmatian Hinterland and dive into the Olive Oil & Wine tradition. Visit a family-owned farm, learn about the ancient process to produce olive oil and wine and try the most delicious bites of our gastronomy. It is a true Dalmatian story delivered from farm to table. You will be hosted on a small and unique property owned by the same family since 1537. which is located just next to the old fortress of Klis. Klis fortress had a huge role in Dalmatian history, was a filming location of Game of Thrones famous series, and nowadays astonishes you with one of the most beautiful Panoramic views to Dalmatian islands and Split.
As walking through the farm you’ll see the beautiful nature, olive groves, vineyards, and orchards. Your host will explain to you how much effort and patience you need to make oil and wine produced from olives and grapes – a tradition that extends through the family stories. At the farm, you’ll see and pet (if you want) domestic animals like rabbits, cats, and dogs and chickens. Collect chicken eggs or feed the rabbits to feel like a real farmer. Then you’ll head to the tavern and find out how the remains of grapes produce schnapps. You will have the opportunity to see the old tools for farming, old wooden wine barrels, old-style fireplace, brick oven and etc. After that, you’ll taste homemade products such as vine, schnapps, prosciutto (smoked ham), olive oil, cheese in an intimate small group in complete privacy.
