A massive Roman ruin complex and arguably the most important historical site in Split, Diocletian’s Palace is a must-see for any visitor. Combine that with a panoramic car tour and you will see everything that Split has to offer.
This tour takes you through 1,700 years of history within the walls of the UNESCO-listed historical complex and then moving towards others, yet nothing less admirable sites and things to see in Split, such as the City Clock, Riva, People’s Square etc. You can be sure of the exceptional knowledge and fluent English of the guides. Tours are guided by professional, highly qualified local guides with a real passion for touring Croatia and discovering all of its beauty. Do not miss a chance to see Split from a different perspective.
This small group tour is guided by a professional driver and will offer you a full experience of Split. All you have to do is prepare your camera, sit back and relax. Starting at the very heart of the Diocletian’s Palace you’ll go to a place that pops out when you google “What to see in Split?” – marvelous Bačvice Beach, the only sandy beach in area and the home of “Picigin” game. Moving on to Tvrđava Gripe (Gripe Fortress) where the Croatian Maritime museum is placed. In 17th century, fortress Gripe played a huge role in the defense of Split Town when it was attacked by Ottomans (Turks). Another place you’ll see in this Split car tour is a Church of Holy Trinity (Crkva Sv. Trojice) which was built between 8th and 11th century and nowadays is registered as one of the most valuable Croatian Cultural Heritage of the highest category. You will pass by Poljud Stadium and also visit a Franciscan church and monastery of St. Anthony where you can find the oldest known depiction of Split, an image made in 1549 showing the city as it lays in the hands of its patron St. Domnius.
And we’ve saved the best for the end. Taking you to the Vidilica at Marjan park – forest from where the view of Split on the palm of your hand will leave you breathless.
