Split was a terrific surprise in our travels through Central Europe!! We knew nothing about Diocletian’s Palace or the history of ancient Croatia. Our guide INA was fantastic, and made the labyrinth of shops, restaurants, apartments, streets, plazas and museums within the walls of this complex COMPLETELY make sense to us!! The story fits right in to what you already (may or may not) know about Ancient Rome, and the Roman Empire. Ina paints the picture with such clarity and detail, that you can imagine sitting on the VERY SAME STEPS of the Peristyle 1700 years ago!!
Thank you Ina!! You inspired us to forgo Dubrovnik (don’t worry – we will return), and extend our time in Split…we enjoyed every minute!!
Fantastic guide and tour!
Our guide, Ina, was marvelous- she was knowledgeable, fun and the tour was a highlight of our stay in Split. As an archaeologist she provided unique insight to the history of Split, Croatia, and of course, Diocletian’s Palace. I highly recommend taking this tour early on in your visit to the area, as Ina provided us with fantastic recommendations for food, other tours and things to see/do in Split and the surrounding areas. Cannot recommend enough!
Fascinating History Tour of Diocletian
The tour guide was terrific. She was very knowledgeable, excited to share history of the palace and Split, and quite mature to handle the questions that came her way. A very useful tour if you are visiting Split for the first time.
